For about a decade, The Mystery Room was the vital musical hub of our small corner of the world. A good handful of interconnected and overlapping bands rehearsed there, The Broken Hipsters committed themselves to tape, parties and good times flowed but the crown jewel in the mystery room’s crown was the weekly jam night. Usually weekly. But never weakly.

An amazing scene coalesced around a solid core of regulars and a host of colorful guest stars and visitors.

Most of those nights were preserved on an already nearly obsolete tape format (Tascam’s DA88 line, if you must know) and we sure meant to dub them down so we can hear them, be transported back through time…
